New Sylhet DC’s Stern Warning: “Touch the Stones, Face Ruin”

On his very first day in office, newly appointed Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam made his stance clear with a strong warning. During a visit to the Sadapathor region in Bholaganj and several nearby crusher mills, he openly declared that illegal stone extraction will no longer be tolerated.

In his own words: “If even a single stone is moved unlawfully, the consequences will be disastrous.” The DC emphasized that anyone involved in destroying the environment in the name of development would face firm legal action.

He further added that Sylhet is blessed with natural beauty, which is a valuable national asset. Therefore, all future development in the region must be sustainable, eco-friendly, and people-centered. His declaration has already sparked widespread discussions among local residents, many welcoming the firm stance against environmental exploitation.
